Taco Tuesday is the best! Had the fish tacos. Both fried and grill. Both great. But go with the friend. Order without onions. 👍

Food was pretty dang tootin good! Came here three times in two weeks when I first discovered it. Only once did I get exceptional service, the other two times the service was okay. No complaints, though. Will come back soon!

Great authentic So Cal Mexican grinds! Owner and staff are awesome and have everything priced reasonably. Gotta stop when near North Beach in San Clemente!

Good burrito best place to visit if tourist

One of those lucky little places where you can go and get a cheap, tasty meal by going just off the beaten path. It's not fancy or luxurious, but there's a nice little eating area separate from the bar and the food was still solid.

I have eaten here several times. The food and drinks are great and the prices very reasonable. This weekend I had the taco and chili relleno, very delicious! I will be coming back soon.

It was good before but my last visit was no good. Got the order wrong. She was rude about it and wouldn't make it right.

By far the best Fish & Chips at any price. Much better than Fisherman's that costs more than double.Sounds completely crazy for a local Mexican restaurant but they are so good it's ridiculous.The best kept secret in San Clemente.

Best fish-n-chops in town. Yeah... At a Mexican restaurant. The place that used to be there, years ago, had great fish-n-chips and when El Jefe took over they kept the recipe on the menu.

Impressive prices for the quality and portions of food. Quirky but fun place just off the main strip in San Clemente.

The food is always awesome. Unfortunately the server ( a young girl that was probably new) took so long getting my drink I had to cancel order. I'll continue to eat here but next time I'll request a different server.

I had the ribs... Pre cooked then reheated on smooth surface. 6 bones , sauce was very good.

El Jefe is a family-run Mexican restaurant free quilted by locals. They have good Fresh Mexican food and great service staff. The prices are very reasonable.
